Job summary

HX5, LLC, Fort Walton Beach, FL, is seeking an Accounting Specialist I to develop, interpret, and implement complex financial and accounting concepts for government contracts. The role emphasizes billing, project reporting, and cost analysis.

You will prepare monthly labor accruals, review subcontractor invoices, and ensure proper cost allowability and funding alignment across contract types.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1–3 months related experience helpful.
• BS Degree in accounting from an accredited university a plus.
• Ability to demonstrate discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality a must.
• Ability to maintain high level of attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Completes monthly billing to the government or prime contractor on various contract types: Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursable, Time & Materials
• Completes monthly project financial reporting requirements (CDRLs, FMERS, EAC/ETC)
• Analyzes financial information & labor hour utilization to determine present and future financial performance
• Updates specialized reports for Program Management Offices for cost/utilization and forecasts
• Reviews contract modifications to verify value and funding portion, and updates Costpoint values
• Reviews costs for contract allowability
• Adds/updates Costpoint Projects for contracts; monitors Project Workforce
• Prepares monthly labor accruals as needed
• Reviews subcontractor invoices and travel expense reports for contractual compliance
