Job summary

Space Kinetic, based in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Government and Business Development Director to identify and shape opportunities across U.S. government and national security markets.

You will lead capture efforts from engagement through proposal and award, coordinating with engineering, programs, finance, contracts, leadership, and partners. The role emphasizes relationship-building, strategic planning, and market intelligence to position Space Kinetic for long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Public Policy, International Affairs, National Security, or related field.
• 7+ years in government business development, capture management, defense programs, government acquisition, or related field.
• Experience with DoD, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, Intelligence Community, or other national security customers.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, shape, capture, and grow government opportunities aligned with Space Kinetic’s priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with DoD, Space Force, Air Force, IC, and other government organizations.
• Develop understanding of missions, budgets, roadmaps, and buying cycles.
• Create and manage a government BD pipeline with value, timing, stakeholders, and next steps.
• Lead proposals, negotiations, and contract awards with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate responses to RFI/RFPs, GAO, white papers, and capability requests.
