Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is hiring a Graduate Nurse Intern for the 10E progressive care unit, focusing on care for renal, stroke, and seizure patients with continuous EEG monitoring. Location is Trinity Health Ann Arbor. Shifts run 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

New grads are encouraged to apply. Must hold a Michigan RN license, graduate from an accredited nursing program, and be willing to pursue a BSN within five years. ACLS/BLS requirements may apply for certain departments.

Qualifications

• Requires current Michigan Nursing License.
• Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• New hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years.
• New graduate nurses require licensure examination scheduled within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care
• Uses teach back methodology to educate patient and family
• Actively seeks to prevent potential hospital acquired (infections)
• Effectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffs
• Follows all HIPAA policies and procedures

The 10E progressive care unit: Medical progressive care unit specializing in the care of diagnoses including renal, stroke, seizure with continuous EEG monitoring.

Shifts Available

7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Status Available

Full time, Part time Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members.

Required Qualifications

Required Education / Licensure

• Requires current Michigan Nursing License
• Graduation from accredited nursing program
• New hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years
• New graduate nurses, requires licensure examination scheduled within 45 days of hire

Licensure

• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BLS.
• ACLS required for the following departments : Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency

Experience

Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply

• Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs
• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
