Job summary

Bachem Americas in Torrance, CA seeks an R&D Chemist II to join the Process Development Group. You will purify, analyze, and isolate GMP-grade peptides, performing preparative and analytical RP-HPLC and isolation operations under supervision, with emphasis on quality, safety, and GMP compliance.

The role requires a degree in chemistry or bioengineering with 1–5 years’ experience, hands-on chromatography, and strong data recording.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in preparative and analytical RP-HPLC and isolation in a GMP environment.
• Experience with Batch Production Records (BPR) and SOP documentation.
• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and ICH guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform preparative and analytical RP-HPLC and isolation operations under supervision.
• Follow SOPs and Batch Production Records; ensure GMP compliance.
• Operate chromatography platforms and document purification conditions and yields.
• Collaborate with synthetic chemists to meet project timelines and quality goals.
• Maintain laboratory safety and accurate data records; good notebook practices.
