Job summary

Valmont Group in Brenham, TX, is seeking a backwelder to join our production team. Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, you will be certified in GMAW welding and perform fit-up tasks; you will also operate equipment and read drawings to assemble pole components.

Starting hourly pay is $24.47 with potential step increases and a discretionary bonus. First shift: Monday–Thursday 7AM–5PM with possible overtime.

Qualifications

• Must read and write English.
• Ability to use common manufacturing math.
• 6 months welding experience or completion of welding program.
• Must pass GMAW weld test and maintain certification.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Welds components using GMAW to assemble pole assemblies.
• Position parts and operate cranes for material handling.
• Read drawings to identify parts and locations for assembly.
• Use plasma torch to cut steel and jigs for cutting holes.
• Measure distances and angles with tapes, levels, and squares.
• Support safety practices and PPE compliance.
