Job summary

Valmont Industries is seeking a Backwelder for the 3rd shift to perform GMAW welding and fit-up tasks on pole assemblies. The role requires reading drawings, locating parts, and using grinders and plasma tools.

Starting pay is $24.47 per hour plus a $1 shift differential for second and third shifts, with potential step increases at 90 days, one year, and two years, and eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to use common manufacturing math.
• 6 Months of previous welding experience or completed welding program.
• Must pass GMAW rotational weld test and maintain certification.
• Ability to produce good welds and read drawings.

Responsibilities

• Weld using GMAW to assemble pole components.
• Read drawings to identify parts and locations.
• Position parts, lift using crane, and assemble securely.
• Operate grinders and drills to finish components.
• Follow safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Support other duties as needed.
