Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to oversee daily operations, drive sales, and ensure excellent customer service across departments. You will mentor teams, manage staffing and training, and uphold Meijer standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes P&L oversight, shrink control, and strategic staff development, with opportunities for advancement within a family-owned retail company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze information to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by providing career paths and development needs.
• Document disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to meet service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is trained and completed required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and staff.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
