Job summary

Fluence is seeking a Vice President of Systems Engineering to lead the strategic and technical authority for product systems across the lifecycle. This role partners with multiple functions to ensure modular, scalable, and certified solutions while shaping the engineering organization for global impact.

You will drive architecture definition, verification, validation, and field reliability initiatives, impacting product performance and customer success at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field; advanced degrees preferred.
• 20+ years progressive engineering experience including integrated hardware/software products.
• 10+ years leading global engineering organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the long-term Systems Engineering strategy aligned with the Product BU strategy and technology roadmap.
• Establish the global Systems Engineering operating model, governance, and capability roadmap.
• Lead investments in MBSE, digital engineering, lab infrastructure, HIL, and productivity improvements.
• Serve as the executive technical authority for architecture decisions, tradeoffs, and release readiness.
• Own verification, validation, certification, functional safety, and field reliability initiatives.
• Lead global laboratories, HIL testing, product validation, and engineering assurance.
• Provide technical leadership from concept through launch, sustainment, and end-of-life planning.
• Partner with Product Management to balance cost, performance, and customer value.
