Job summary

Fluence is seeking a Vice President, Power and Systems to lead global direct materials strategy and execution across power conversion, electrical systems, and balance of plant portfolios. Leading a $5B+ lift in spend, you will drive cost discipline, supplier architecture, and governance while reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer.

The role focuses on scaling the supplier base, advancing should-cost initiatives, and delivering significant year-over-year gross margin improvements.

Qualifications

• 15–20+ years in direct materials, category management, or supply chain leadership.
• Ownership of at least $500M annual direct materials spend.
• Experience scaling a portfolio and organization through rapid growth.
• Strong financial acumen across TCO, PPV, and index/FX mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale the direct materials organization to over $5B in annual spend.
• Set category strategy and supplier architecture across global operations.
• Lead major supplier negotiations and drive year-over-year cost reduction and margin improvement.
• Partner with CFO, CPO, and executive leadership on risk, governance, and strategic decisions.
