Job summary

Alteryx is seeking a Senior Director of User Experience to scale and elevate a 30-person design organization across global teams. You will shape AI-powered and agentic product strategy, ensure design quality under business constraints, and partner with product, engineering, and executive stakeholders to drive customer-centered outcomes.

You will own staffing decisions, design-ops processes, and budget while promoting rigorous critique, high craft, and career growth for designers at all levels

Qualifications

• 15+ years in product design, including 6+ years leading design managers or leads in SaaS or enterprise software environments.
• Genuine collaborative approach working with peer leaders across product, experience & insights, and engineering teams.
• Experience building design operations at scale: staffing, metrics, cadence, and design-ops processes.

Responsibilities

• Evolve the design vision and strategy for Alteryx’s product portfolio, focusing on AI-powered and agentic experiences.
• Represent design in senior leadership forums and defend design quality under commercial pressure.
• Partner with product management, engineering, and executive leadership to shape roadmaps and prioritization.
• Translate customer signals into design direction and align with leaders owning those disciplines.
• Build and run the operating model for a 30-person, globally distributed design organization.
• Establish design metrics and quality bars to demonstrate impact and identify improvement areas.
