Job summary

Alight is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Product Design team and shape AI-enabled product development. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Enablement to create scalable, intuitive experiences that deliver value to clients and employees.

The role expands beyond traditional design, focusing on AI-native workflows, design standards, and governance to ensure experiences enhance human creativity. Strong UX, visual design, and system governance are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using Claude, Claude Design, Figma Make, Figma Design Agent (or similar AI tools) in day-to-day design process.
• Proven ability to design and deliver exceptional product experiences for web and mobile applications, combining strong design judgment and AI-native workflows.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and typography.
• Experience in motion design or micro-interactions.
• Demonstrated experience building and scaling design systems with governance and design-to-development handoff knowledge.
• Advanced, expert-level proficiency in Figma, including variables, auto-layout, advanced prototyping, and managing complex component libraries.
• Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, React).
• Benefits administration experience and/or experience in user research and testing are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design end-to-end for strategic AI-enabled product initiatives within a PDLC.
• Translate user needs and product requirements into scalable experience frameworks and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Enablement to guide AI-assisted workflows.
• Provide design direction and human oversight aligned with product goals.
• Iterate concepts and AI outputs for intuitive, scalable experiences across products.
• Own and evolve the design system as foundation for human and AI-generated experiences.
• Ensure UI components and interactions are reusable and accessible across teams.
• Champion WCAG 2.1 AA standards and accessible content hierarchy.
• Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Research, and Content; clarify requirements and surface risks early.
• Shape product strategy with Product Managers and ensure feasibility with Engineering.
• Leverage AI to accelerate ideation and delivery with necessary human oversight for quality.
• Lead design critiques, set quality standards, mentor team members in human and AI-assisted design.
• Foster culture where human creativity and responsible AI deliver scalable experiences.
