Coverys, Inc. in Boston, MA is seeking an experienced Underwriter with a global perspective to underwrite medical professional liability for groups and facilities. You will determine classifications, approve applications, renewals, and endorsements, and develop a profitable book of business.

You’ll lead collaborations across teams, foster relationships with agents, participate in presentations, and stay current on industry trends while aiming to improve underwriting efficiency and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
• CPCU and/or RPLU studies are preferred.
• Active Property and Casualty Producer license is required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials and industry reports.
• Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present to groups.

Responsabilités

• Analyzes information and exposures to make decisions on account acceptance or declination.
• Approves applications, renewals, and endorsements within authority.
• Determines rating plan and accurately calculates premiums for risks.
• Communicates underwriting decisions clearly and documents them.
• Manages assigned territory within company guidelines and financial objectives.
• Develops relationships with agent/broker partners and communicates effectively.
• Coordinates and leads training on underwriting processes.
• Stays informed about pricing and product offerings of competitors.
• Participates in presentations to insureds and prospects.
• Researches healthcare and insurance trends.
