Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
• CPCU and/or RPLU studies are preferred.
• Active Property and Casualty Producers license.
• 4+ years of Medical Professional Liability underwriting required.
• Strong producer relationships preferred.
• Ability to understand healthcare facilities and regulatory factors.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry materials.
• Ability to write reports and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes information and exposures to decide on acceptance or declination and classification.
• Approves applications, renewals, and endorsements within authority; determines rating and premiums.
• Communicates underwriting decisions and documents them accurately.
• Manages territory within guidelines to meet financial objectives.
• Fosters relationships with agents/brokers through effective communication.
• Coordinates and leads training sessions on underwriting processes.
• Keeps knowledge of competitive pricing and product offerings in territory.
• Participates in presentations to current and prospective insureds.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Researches healthcare and insurance trends.
