Job summary

Inter-American Development Bank is seeking an active undergraduate student for the Winter Internship Program in Washington, DC. This paid internship, conducted under the Consultant modality, offers on-the-job learning at professional level and exposure to development work within the IDB Group.

You will translate and manage terminology, use computer assisted translation tools, align documents, and help develop in-house glossaries.

Qualifications

• Active undergraduate student in relevant disciplines with graduation after internship.
• Fluency in English and knowledge of another Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese).
• Experience with CAT tools and terminology management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Use translation tools to create translation memory databases for recurring text.
• Align official documents using alignment software.
• Research and compile terminology related to Bank documents.
• Contribute to in-house glossaries and style manuals.
• Perform quality control to verify document accuracy and completeness.
• Produce draft translations for revision by in-house revisers.
• Assist in implementing language technology and analytics tools.
