Job summary

Freeman+Leonard is seeking an experienced Director of Tradeshows & Events to lead its global events strategy onsite in Irving. This role oversees strategy, budgeting, sponsorships, and post-event analysis to drive brand visibility and commercial growth across markets and regions.

The ideal candidate oversees global event programs, manages executive participation, and partners with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships to deliver high-impact experiences.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in tradeshows, events, experiential marketing, or related discipline.
• Proven experience developing and executing global tradeshow strategies across multiple countries or regions.
• Experience managing a portfolio of international tradeshows, conferences, sponsorships, and executive engagements.
• Strong understanding of international event operations, including vendors, shipping, venue requirements, and local regulations.
• Demonstrated experience managing substantial event budgets, forecasting spend, and negotiating contracts.
• Ability to partner with senior executives and cross-functional teams to connect event strategy with business priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the annual global tradeshow and industry event strategy, calendar, and budget.
• Lead end-to-end event planning and execution, including booth strategy, sponsorships, signage, staffing, and onsite execution.
• Collaborate with Sales and leadership to set objectives, engagement plans, and success metrics for each event.
• Create differentiated event experiences that strengthen brand positioning and engagement.
• Negotiate contracts and manage event spending focusing on cost control and value.
• Establish repeatable event-planning processes, timelines, and operating standards.
• Coordinate executive participation, speaking opportunities, and customer meetings at events.
• Develop event measurement frameworks and report on engagement, pipeline influence, and ROI.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Event Management, or a related field
