Job summary

U.S. Bank in Saint Paul is seeking an International Banking Operations Associate to support Global Trade & Standby Services and documentary collections.

You will act as an intermediary between customers, internal partners, and international banks to facilitate accurate, timely processing of transactions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to manage complex documentation while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant work experience.
• Prior experience with import/export trade products or international payments.
• Strong customer service mindset with the ability to manage sensitive or time-critical transactions.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and self-driven; able to manage workload independently.
• Comfortable collaborating with internal teams and external banking partners across different time zones.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple transactions simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Process and support Global Trade & Standby Services (GTSS) and Foreign Exchange (FX) transactions across the full transaction lifecycle, including trade documents, payments, settlements, and investigations.
• Review, examine, and reconcile trade and FX documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual terms, internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service‑level agreements.
• Act as a primary liaison between internal partners, external clients, and correspondent banks to facilitate timely and accurate processing of global trade transactions.
• Communicate clearly and professionally via email (primary) and phone to resolve inquiries, clarify documentation requirements, and address transaction issues.
• Identify discrepancies or risks, elevate issues appropriately, and support timely resolution to minimize customer and operational impact.
• Maintain strong productivity, quality, and accuracy standards in a high‑volume, detail‑driven operations environment.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement while upholding the highest standards of customer service and operational integrity.
