Job summary

MAT Holdings, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Trade Compliance professional in Long Grove, IL to ensure ERP/regulatory alignment for import services. The role focuses on U.S. Customs compliance, HTS classifications, and cross-border operations, with collaboration across supply chain, legal, and procurement teams.

You will develop trade strategies, policies, and training programs, supporting audits and continuous process improvements in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in trade compliance, focusing on import logistics and compliance operations.
• Strong understanding of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, and customs valuation.
• Experience with FTZ, Duty Drawback, USMCA programs.
• Ability to review import documents for compliance and drive process improvements.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10% travel, higher early on).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with U.S. import/export laws, primarily CBP regulations.
• Develop and implement trade strategies aligned with business goals.
• Maintain global trade compliance policies, procedures, and training.
• Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, legal, and procurement to move goods cross-border compliantly.
• Prepare for and participate in audits and internal/external assessments.
• Provide training and be the primary contact for CBP inquiries and investigations.
• Maintain records for audits and inquiries and track KPIs for leadership.
