Job summary

Ladders represents a client in the pharmaceuticals/biotech space seeking an Associate Director, Global Commercial Trade Compliance to lead global trade compliance efforts that support cross-border operations and regulatory adherence.

The role partners with customs authorities, internal supply chain teams, and regulatory stakeholders to strengthen governance, enable efficient import/export movement, and drive duty optimization while maintaining master data accuracy and supply chain security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or operations with 8+ years in global trade compliance.
• Master’s degree with 6+ years in trade compliance, biotech/pharma preferred.
• Experience managing multi-jurisdictional customs governance.

Responsibilities

• Direct compliance with U.S. Customs and international authorities across regions.
• Standardize and audit global trade master data for accuracy in classifications and valuations.
• Design and implement duty optimization programs to maximize savings.
• Oversee FDA-related compliance, ensuring accurate master data across the supply chain.
• Govern import/export processes for biopharmaceutical components with USDA and coordinate permits.
• Manage trade compliance for chemical formulations under EPA regulations.
• Develop global supply chain security programs and maintain broker SLAs.
