Job summary

Guerbet is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Manager to lead our import, export, and international trade compliance program within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. You will serve as a global subject matter expert for trade compliance across US and international activities.

You will ensure compliance with customs, FDA, EAR, and related requirements while supporting efficient movement of products across borders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
7+ years of progressive global trade compliance experience, including pharmaceutical industry.
U.S. Customs Broker License and/or trade compliance certification.
Advanced knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, FDA import requirements, EAR, and Census/Foreign Trade Regulations.
Experience with HTS classification, ECCN determination, country of origin, and customs valuation.
Experience with free trade agreements and other trade preference programs.
Experience conducting trade compliance audits and remediation.
Experience working with brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities.
Strong communication and training skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead trade compliance activities supporting pharmaceutical imports and exports.
Determine and maintain HTS/tariff classifications, country of origin, ECCN classifications, and customs valuation information.
Maintain accurate product classification and trade compliance data.
Coordinate import permits and licenses as required and monitor their status.
Support daily import/export operations to facilitate timely customs clearance and international movement.
Oversee ISF requirements for inbound ocean shipments and work with customs brokers to ensure accurate filing.
Review and audit import/export documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Maintain import/export records in accordance with regulatory requirements and retention policies.
Manage customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other trade compliance service providers using performance metrics.
Monitor export transactions for requirements including export controls, end-use, embargoes, anti-boycott, and denied/restricted-party screening.
Respond to inquiries from customs and government authorities accurately and professionally.
Serve as the foreign trade zone (FTZ) administrator for U.S. operations.
Develop, maintain, and communicate trade compliance policies and guidelines.
Provide import/export compliance training and technical guidance to internal partners.
Partner with functions to identify and remediate trade compliance risks and gaps.
Support regional/global trade compliance initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
