Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals LLC in Boston seeks a global trade compliance leader to shape and run the strategy across manufacturing, distribution, clinical, and research shipments worldwide.

You will build scalable processes, interpret evolving US, EU and UK regulations, and drive continuous improvement by partnering with Legal, Tax, Regulatory, and IT teams. This role offers remote-eligible, flexible on-site/hybrid options and a path to impact our global supply chain.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business, or Supply Chain.
• 15+ years of pharma or life sciences trade compliance leadership.
• Deep knowledge of US, EU, and UK trade regulations, customs, VAT, and risk.
• Strategic problem-solving, strong communication, and stakeholder management.
• Experience with digital trade management tools, automation, and AI in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute scalable trade compliance processes and systems.
• Interpret and operationalize global trade regulations across geographies.
• Oversee customs declarations, valuation, tariffs, licensing, and export controls.
• Monitor regulatory changes and optimize duty mitigation programs.
• Partner with Legal, Tax, Regulatory, and Data Technology teams.
• Manage trade compliance metrics, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Support governance of external providers and develop training.
