BD, a leading medical technology company, seeks an Associate Director of Trade Compliance to lead global import/export governance and drive compliant supply chains. The role ensures adherence to CBP, FDA, and PGA requirements while optimizing duties and certifications across sites.

Location options include Franklin Lakes, NJ or San Diego, with strong leadership and cross‑functional collaboration across Regulatory, Legal, and Operations.

Qualifikationen

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) issued by CBP is strictly required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or a related field (Advanced degree or legal certification is a plus).
• Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive international trade compliance experience, with at least 5 years managing import & export operations within a multinational, FDA‑regulated medical device, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Deep expertise in 19 CFR (U.S. Customs Regulations), HTSUS classification, customs valuation, Incoterms 2020, and C‑TPAT supply chain security frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience working with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, GTS) and automated customs data entry/filing environments (ACE).
• Leadership: ability to lead in a matrixed corporate structure, communicate risk to executive leadership, manage cross‑functional projects.

Aufgaben

• Regulatory Oversight & LCB Leadership: supervise customs entries, binding rulings, protests, and disclosures.
• Program Management & Governance: design and scale trade compliance policies, controls across sites and hubs.
• Medical Device Regulatory Intersection: coordinate with Regulatory Affairs to manage FDA NoA requirements and PGA obligations.
• Classification & Valuation: oversee HTS classifications, COO markings, and valuation determinations including transfers and FTAs.
• Broker & Supplier Management: direct brokers, freight forwarders, and contract manufacturers to optimize clearance times.
• Trade Strategy & Duty Optimization: implement tariff mitigation strategies and FTAs, duty drawback, First Sale, and reconciliations.
• Maquila / IMMEX Compliance: manage duties for temporary imports and maquiladora operations.
• Trade data creation and management (HS, COO, ECCN).
• Audit & Risk Mitigation: conduct internal assessments and manage CBP audits.
