Job summary

Cogent Communications is seeking a results-driven sales professional to join our Chicago-area team in an in-office capacity. The role focuses on hunting new business within a regional Territory, selling high-speed Internet, private network services, and data center solutions to enterprise customers.

With 3–8+ years in telecom B2B sales and a proven quota track record, you will prospect, qualify, and close deals by leveraging Cogent's global network footprint and competitive price leadership.

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of B2B telecom sales experience.
• Proven track record of hunting new business and meeting quotas.
• Strong prospecting and lead qualification skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with CRM systems a plus.
• College degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within a regional sales territory.
• Directly engage Key Decision Makers via calls, email and meetings.
• Meet or exceed sales quotas through consultative selling.
• Position Cogent services across IP transit, data center, and wholesale markets.
• Support customers with Cogent's global network footprint.
