Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Counsel to support the Global Legal team in drafting and negotiating commercial and public sector contracts. The role requires working with internal stakeholders to ensure compliant, favorable terms for Akamai’s customers and partners.

You will handle government contracting matters, leverage FAR/DFARS knowledge, and contribute to the department's performance while maintaining high standards of professional conduct. U.S.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of legal experience in private practice or in-house with tech/telecom clients.
• JD from ABA-accredited law school; licensed to practice in relevant jurisdiction.
• U.S. citizenship required for government work.
• Public sector contracting experience (required), including software/SaaS/cloud to government customers.
• Familiarity with FAR and agency supplements (DFARS), including flow-downs to contracts.
• Strong written and oral English with concise contract drafting abilities.
• Experience with commercial law, IP rights, and privacy.
• Active security clearance (or eligibility) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating sales contracts and other commercial documents.
• Reviewing teaming agreements, NDAs, subcontractor agreements, and proposals for public sector work.
• Negotiating government contracts with federal, state/local/education customers (directly or via resellers).
• Advising cross-functional and Legal Department teams on contract matters.
• Ensuring adherence to Akamai's policies in negotiations and contracting.
• Participating in efforts to improve the Legal Department's performance.
