Job summary

PayPal Inc. is seeking a Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global information reporting and withholding tax compliance across products, processes, and procedures.

The role collaborates with cross-functional partners to evaluate new and updated products for information reporting implications and to create necessary policy updates. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of tax experience, a JD, and active bar admission.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant tax experience
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree or foreign equivalent
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction

Responsibilities

• Advises on complex tax issues affecting business operations and strategic initiatives
• Develops and documents technical tax analyses for planning, reporting, audits, and compliance
• Partners with business units and Finance to structure initiatives tax-efficiently and compliantly
• Identifies tax risk exposures and recommends mitigation strategies aligned with PayPal's risk tolerance
• Coordinates with outside advisors and may mentor junior attorneys
• Drafts contract language and user agreements related to information reporting and withholding
