Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global information reporting compliance across products, processes, and policies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new products for reporting requirements and help create necessary policy updates.

The role requires 5+ years of tax experience and a JD with licensure, plus the ability to manage significant matters and coordinate with external advisors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant tax experience with a JD or foreign equivalent.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• Ability to independently manage significant tax matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax issues affecting business operations.
• Develops and documents technical tax analyses supporting planning strategies, reporting positions, audit defense, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with business units and Finance leadership to structure initiatives in a tax-efficient and compliant manner.
• Identify tax risk exposures and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with outside advisors where appropriate and manage discrete external engagements.
• Mentor junior attorneys or other legal professionals and contribute to knowledge development within the tax function.
