Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global information reporting and withholding tax compliance across products and processes. You will work with cross-functional teams to evaluate new products, determine policy applicability, and advocate defensible positions.

In this role, you will advise product development partners, draft business requirements and contract language, and manage external engagements while mentoring junior attorneys.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant tax experience with JD.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage significant tax matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax issues affecting operations, transactions, and initiatives.
• Develop and document technical tax analyses for planning, reporting, audits, and compliance.
• Collaborate with Finance leadership to structure initiatives tax-efficiently.
• Identify tax risks and recommend mitigation aligned with company risk tolerance.
• Coordinate with outside advisors and manage external engagements.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to knowledge development.
