Job summary

Universal Music Group seeks a Service Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical systems powering a global enterprise. You will blend software engineering with operational excellence, automating complex processes and reducing manual toil.

You will partner with development, infrastructure, and security teams to implement SRE best practices, including SLOs and error budgets, fostering a culture of resilience across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux/Windows administration in large-scale environments.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python/Go/Java).
• Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
• Solid understanding of networking, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and IaC (Terraform/Ansible).
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain availability, scalability, and performance of critical services.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, observability systems to ensure rapid issue detection.
• Monitor capacity and performance, provide analyses for service delivery improvements.
• Drive automation of repetitive operational tasks including deployments and scaling.
• Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed and reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead post-incident reviews.
