Job summary

Universal Music Group in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the reliability and performance of global critical systems. You’ll blend software engineering with operations to automate toil, improve observability, and support CI/CD across teams.

You will join the Global Technical Operations function, collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security, and help establish SLOs and incident response practices in a dynamic, enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Strong background in systems administration (Linux/Windows) in large-scale environments.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java).
• Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
• Solid understanding of networking, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC.
• Experience with modern monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reliability, scalability, and performance of critical services.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead post-incident reviews.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT to embed SRE best practices (SLOs, error budgets).
• Monitor capacity and performance, providing data-driven improvements.
