Job summary

Universal Music Group (UMG) is seeking a Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the Global Technical Operations team in Nashville. The role focuses on reliability, scalability, and performance of critical systems powering a global enterprise.

You will blend software engineering with operations to automate tasks, reduce toil, and partner with development, infrastructure, and security teams to foster resilience.

Qualifications

• Strong background in systems administration (Linux/Windows) in a large-scale environment.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python/Go/Java).
• Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Solid understanding of networking, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC (Terraform/Ansible).
• Experience with modern monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus/Grafana/Datadog).
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure settings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and performant services.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems to detect and resolve issues quickly.
• Monitor capacity and performance, provide analysis to improve service delivery.
