Job summary

Universal Music Group seeks a Service Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability and performance of critical systems powering a global enterprise. You will blend software and operations to automate, optimize and maintain services at scale.

You will design observability, runbooks, and incident response with on-call rotations, and collaborate across engineering, IT, security teams to embed SRE best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale Linux/Windows environments.
• Proficiency in Python, Go or Java for tooling and automation.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS preferred).
• Strong networking, containers, and IaC concepts.
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain reliability, performance, and availability of critical services.
• Develop robust monitoring, alerting, and observability pipelines (CloudWatch, Dynatrace).
• Analyze capacity and performance; propose improvements for delivery.
• Automate repetitive tasks, provisioning, and scaling of infrastructure.
• Create scripts to support operational tooling and automation.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines for faster, safer deployments.
• On-call rotation to troubleshoot incidents and drive resolutions.
• Lead post-incident reviews and root-cause analyses.
• Embed SRE practices (SLOs, error budgets) into design and lifecycle.
