Job summary

Coherent is seeking a procurement professional in Saxonburg, PA to manage direct materials purchasing using Oracle MRP, negotiate pricing, issue POs, and expedit e deliveries. You will target cost savings and work with QA and engineering to qualify new sources.

Responsibilities include timely POs, supplier communications, and maintaining ERP data, while ensuring Sarbanes Oxley compliance and ISO 9001 standards across activities. Travel required.

• Experience in Supplier Development, Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier negotiations.
• Adherence to policies and development of best practices for efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing direct materials based on Oracle MRP data; request quotes, negotiate pricing, enter/revise POs, expediting, returns.
• Manage 10% of total budgeted cost savings for the COHERENT Optical Solutions BU; coordinate with Singapore and Philippines.
• Negotiate pricing, challenge price increases, and find alternative sources for savings.
• Collaborate with quality and engineering to identify new critical sources and qualify them.
• Obtain internal approvals for requisitions/ POs to comply with Sarbanes Oxley; obtain supplier confirmations and update ERP.
• Determine purchase quantities based on history, inventory, price breaks, lead-time and demand.
