Job summary

New Relic is seeking a seasoned technology leader to guide and expand our global engineering team, driving the next generation of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) with a focus on data analytics and OpenTelemetry.

The role emphasizes hands-on data analysis, design of scalable agents, and collaboration across teams to deliver reliable, scalable software in a fast-growing environment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• 4+ years leading people and teams.
• 10+ years in Software Engineering.
• Proven track record of leading and scaling technical teams.
• Experience managing remote teams.
• Ability to analyze data and assess risks.
• Experience with Java and Node backend.
• Experience with on-call rotations and 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow our global engineering team.
• Help design and build our APM agents that run in customer environments.
• Work across teams to build engineering plans and execute in a distributed, large-scale environment.
• Drive reliability, scalability, and execution across the org.
• Provide technical leadership in distributed systems and software engineering.
