Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Director of Site Budgets to lead the global site budgeting capability.

The role oversees the Trial Initiation Specialist organization, partnering with Regional Operations, Clinical Operations, and Finance to ensure budget quality and timely trial execution. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in clinical research within pharma/biotech, strong stakeholder management, and experience driving operational performance in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in scientific, business, or related discipline; advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the global Site Budgets capability and define its strategic direction.
• Lead the Trial Initiation Specialist (TIS) organization and manage workforce capability and performance.
• Serve as senior business authority for clinical trial site budgeting and budget strategies.
• Establish a globally consistent operating model with regional and country perspectives.
• Build relationships across country, regional, and global stakeholders to strengthen delivery.
• Promote risk-based decision-making and governance in budgeting and trial execution.
