Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Principal Advisor to lead the Global Sanctions Compliance function across all lines of business and jurisdictions, guiding regulatory alignment as the company expands into digital assets and crypto.

Ideal candidates bring senior OFAC experience, 10–15+ years in sanctions, and strong leadership to advise product, engineering, and risk teams on policies, controls, and regulatory exams, while mentoring teams through evolving regimes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in senior policy or compliance within OFAC.
• 10–15+ years in sanctions, including crypto.
• Deep understanding of BaaS products and banking services.
• Ability to develop and enhance sanctions policies and governance.
• Strong communication across leadership and business lines.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable as the Sanctions Program Leader.
• Advise Compliance, product managers, and engineers on sanctions issues.
• Collaborate with AML governance and cross‑functional leaders.
• Support with sanctions policy development and controls across product lifecycle.
• Stay current on sanctions regulations and industry best practices.
• Assist in regulatory exams and vendor risk reviews.
