Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Principal Advisor to lead the Global Sanctions Compliance function across all lines of business and jurisdictions. The role requires senior OFAC experience and strategic leadership to align policies with evolving regulatory expectations.

You will partner with Compliance, product, and Engineering teams to mitigate sanctions risk and support regulatory examinations in a fast-paced financial technology environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in a senior policy, enforcement, licensing, or compliance role within OFAC.
• 10–15+ years of sanctions experience, incl. crypto and global sanctions compliance.

Responsibilities

• Be the Sanctions Program Leader for SoFi’s Enterprise.
• Advise Compliance, product managers, engineers, and business units on sanctions issues.
• Engage with AML and risk leadership to update sanctions processes.
• Support annual sanctions risk assessment and control strategies.
• Develop and review sanctions policies and lifecycle implementation.
• Collaborate with compliance, business, and engineering teams on sanctions controls.
• Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends in sanctions.
• Recommend policy updates to strengthen compliance and reduce risk.
• Assist in regulatory exams, audits, and third-party risk reviews.
