Job summary

Iron Mountain Data Centers seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to serve as the global technical authority for utility distribution, energy storage, and power-quality systems across the enterprise. The role drives design principles, standards, and risk management for major deployments and ongoing operations.

You will partner with executive leadership to shape technical strategy, guide supplier decisions, and mentor engineers while traveling up to 25% to support global programs.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of multi-project, multi-market technical leadership in data center or mission-critical programs.
• Expertise across utility strategy, HV/MV/LV systems, energy storage, and power quality.
• Ability to govern global approval frameworks and balance risk with resilience and CapEx/OpEx.
• Strong executive presence to communicate engineering decisions to leadership and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Set global technical direction for interconnects, HV/MV/LV distribution, UPS, battery storage, and standby generation.
• Govern Basis of Design, global standard designs, and technical specifications.
