Job summary

Iron Mountain Data Centers is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to act as the global technical authority for utility, HV/MV/LV distribution, standby generation, UPS, energy storage, earthing, and power-quality systems. You will set technical direction, govern global standards, and resolve complex issues across new developments and operations.

Qualifications

• Typically 15+ years of multi-market technical leadership.
• Expertise across utility strategy and high/medium/low voltage systems.
• Ability to govern global approval frameworks and risk balancing.
• Executive presence to frame complex engineering decisions for leadership and customers.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Set Global Technical Direction for utility interconnects, HV/MV/LV distribution, UPS, battery storage, earthing and standby generation.
• Govern Basis of Design and global standards; final authority on deviations and risks.
• Advise executive leadership on technical strategy, investment trade-offs, capacity constraints and roadmaps.
• Direct equipment strategy and incident investigations with Supply Chain; lead root-cause actions.
• Build a global electrical community of practice and mentor Senior Engineers.
