Job summary

CONMED is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Sourcing - Plastics to design and drive global plastics sourcing strategies across resins, molded components, and extrusion products.

You will lead strategic supplier relationships, optimize total cost of ownership, and ensure supply continuity while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, R&D, and Operations to support new product introductions and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of progressive sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or category management experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing plastics, resins, molded components, or related direct material categories.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated manufacturing experience.
• Certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, CPM or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year global category strategies for plastics, resins, molded components, and related manufacturing technologies.
• Build category roadmaps aligned with growth, expansion, product development and supplier capability requirements.
• Lead cost reduction, cost avoidance, and productivity objectives.
• Negotiate long-term commercial agreements and pricing structures.
• Establish governance with global suppliers including quarterly business reviews and supplier scorecards.
• Partner with Engineering, R&D, Supplier Development, and Manufacturing for NPI and product launches.
• Identify supply continuity risks and develop mitigation and diversification plans.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align sourcing with quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and financial goals.
