Mercor is seeking a high-execution payroll leader to own end-to-end payroll delivery while scaling our operations. You will manage payroll cycles globally, ensure compliance, and drive automation across the HRIS payroll bridge.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience in high-growth tech startups.
• Hands-on ownership of US payroll and experience delivering payroll in additional countries through local teams or providers.
• Experience with enterprise HRIS and payroll platforms (Rippling preferred).
• Strong understanding of payroll processing, reconciliations, statutory deadlines, controls, and year-end reporting.
• Experience delivering payroll optimization, vendor transitions, acquisitions in integration.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field or equivalent experience.

Responsabilités

• Run employee payroll cycles across assigned countries, coordinating inputs, validations, approvals, funding deadlines, and provider processing.
• Review hires, departures, compensation changes, bonuses, benefits, deductions, and equity inputs; investigate exceptions.
• Reconcile payroll outputs with inputs, funding, and accounting records; liaise with Accounting on journals and month-end close.
• Maintain country calendars and filings; resolve issues with providers and local advisers.
• Lead payroll workstreams for acquisitions and new-country launches; plan cutovers and testing.
• Improve HRIS-to-payroll data flows, approvals, and reporting; drive vendor transitions.
• Build operating procedures, backup coverage, access controls, and audit evidence for payroll/payments.
• Resolve employee pay questions promptly; track accuracy and recurring issues.
• Automate checks and reporting with approved tools, ensuring data protection.
