Job summary

verramobility is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead a multi-country payroll team across the United States and Canada, including union and prevailing wage employees. This role ensures accurate end-to-end payroll processing, compliance with wage laws, and strong cross-functional collaboration with HR, Finance, and IT to drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of payroll experience in multi-state US and multi-province Canada, plus 3+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of payroll experience across multi-state US and multi-province Canada.
• 3+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll experience, including processing, configuration, testing, and reporting.
• 1-3 years of people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a payroll team supporting U.S. and Canadian operations.
• Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for multiple pay groups and jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. federal/state/local, Canadian rules, and prevailing wage requirements.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to improve processes and controls.
• Support year-end activities and audits (W‑2, T4, RL‑1) and data integrity.
