Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. in Illinois seeks an experienced import specialist to process ocean import shipments, ensure compliance with laws and company policies, and manage documentation from booking to delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in imports or related field.
• Experience with import entry procedures and compliance.
• Knowledge of ISF preferred.
• FDA experience preferred.
• Knowledge of First Port of Arrival (FPOA) entry processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and track customer bookings and send shipping instructions.
• Notify customers of arrivals and charges, including holds.
• Process Customs entries and FDA related entries.
• Prepare documentation with accuracy (invoices, classifications, etc).
• Transmit information to ABI and monitor release and corrections.
• Coordinate entry and break bulk shipments.
• Assist Sales with quotes by providing rates and tariffs.
• Ensure file contains all essential documents and is properly filed.
• Respond to customer requests per company guidelines.
