Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Ocean Export Specialist to facilitate outbound shipments, handle documentation, rates, and compliance.

You will coordinate pick-ups, track shipments, communicate with overseas agents and customers, and support invoicing and file integrity. 3–5 years export experience preferred; CargoWise (C1) knowledge is a plus; strong problem solving and professional interactions required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience handling ocean export shipments.
• Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred.
• Ability to think pro-actively and address work challenges with diplomacy.
• Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/coordinate the necessary documentation for ocean export activities.
• Coordinate cargo pick up/transfer and monitor status.
• Communicate with export authorities, customers, and overseas agents to ensure compliant operations.
• Manage/update carrier/vendor rates and obtain spot rates as needed.
• Create and maintain customer files and assist with invoicing and payables approval.
