Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mining Study Program Manager to lead mining studies from early stages through detailed engineering and construction support. You will coordinate with project managers and discipline leads to deliver practical solutions for global clients.

This role requires 8+ years in mining project management (15+ years preferred), leadership, and proficiency in MS Project and Primavera. Travel ~20% (domestic/international). Remote work options available. Sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Mining Engineering or related engineering discipline with 8+ years relevant experience
• 15+ years of progressive experience in studies/project management in mining preferred
• PMP certification or internal AECOM PM certification
• Experience managing international mining projects or programs
• Knowledge of geological exploration/modeling, mining engineering, mineral processing, environmental permitting, geotechnical investigations, and hydrogeological modeling
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment with goals and objectives
• Act as the primary liaison between clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders
• Lead business development to promote AECOM’s mining presence
• Facilitate communication to address client concerns and meet milestones
• Oversee planning, scheduling, communication, and coordination of program activities
• Manage program staffing, subcontractor relationships, and resource allocation
• Develop and implement project plans including scope, schedule, budget, and quality control
• Utilize MS Project, Primavera, and AECOM systems for tracking progress and resources
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Identify and mitigate risks through proactive planning
• Prepare progress reports, work plans, and financial summaries
• Maintain records of project activities, budgets, and schedules
• Travel ~20% domestically and internationally
• Enforce QA/QC procedures to meet project standards
