Job summary

AECOM is seeking a motivated Field Mining Engineer to join our Mining team, supporting North America operations with on-site technical leadership. You will travel between mine sites, collaborate with operations, geology, and planning teams, and drive safe, efficient extraction and continuous improvement.

The role is primarily field-based, with extended site assignments, and requires travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• BS in Mining Engineering or related engineering discipline; 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Equivalency of education and experience accepted.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or progression toward PE licensure is a plus.
• MSHA New Miner certificate is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite technical support for open pit and/or underground mining operations.
• Monitor production activities and ensure compliance with mine plans and designs.
• Develop short-term mine plans, production schedules, and dig/placement designs.
• Coordinate with survey teams and geologists for design conformance and resource recovery.
• Support environmental and safety initiatives and ongoing continuous improvement.
