Job summary

Takeda seeks a Director, Global Medical Communications Lead to shape and deliver the medical communications strategy for high-priority assets as part of the TA scientific communications plan. The role functions as an independent strategic advisor to TA leadership, transforming evidence into impactful, globally reusable narratives across channels.

The position champions AI-enabled workflows, leads core asset development, and collaborates with Medical Affairs to ensure scientifically robust,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in life science or healthcare required; advanced degree preferred (e.g., MSc, PharmD, PhD or MD).
5+ years in medical communications, including leading strategy for high-priority assets in a global matrix environment.
Deep understanding of drug development, evidence generation and Medical Affairs; strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

Shape and lead the medical communications strategy for assigned asset(s) or franchise as part of the integrated TA plan; set priorities and advise TA leadership.
Own the scientific narrative for asset(s); develop SCPs, lexicons, core slide decks and FAQs for global reuse.
Lead integrated congress and medical education strategy including booth content and pre/post-congress communications.
Mentor ADs, managers, fellows and contributors; provide dotted-line leadership.
Serve as medical approver for promotional/non-promotional materials; address medical, legal, regulatory questions.
