Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead liquid cooling infrastructure projects for AWS data centers.

You will join a global engineering team responsible for ownership and continuous improvement of cooling systems, with travel up to ~30% and locations in Austin, Herndon, Seattle, or Columbus. The role requires hands-on mechanical experience and knowledge of manufacturing best practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
• Experience researching new designs and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering recommendations with strong judgement amidst uncertainty
• Review, update, and approve equipment submittals for data center cooling systems
• Work with global suppliers and manufacturers on liquid cooling equipment improvements
• Collaborate with product development teams to understand products during development and testing
• Support operations including failure analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical systems
• Communicate complex systems clearly to diverse stakeholders
