Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a global engineering team overseeing mechanical (cooling) infrastructure products for AWS data centers.

You will own design, test, and sustainment of cooling systems, collaborating with product development to understand all facets of each product and ensuring reliability and manufacturability. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience developing Mechanical and/or Mechanical Cooling Products.
  • Hands-on trouble-shooting of mechanical components and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Possess strong engineering judgement and ability to provide recommendations despite uncertainty.
  • Are detail and data oriented.
  • Have experience in Mechanical Engineering and/or Mechanical Products.
  • Review, update, and approve equipment submittals.
  • Work with global mechanical equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g. reliability, operations, design, compliance).
  • Work on concurrent projects, in multiple geographic zones.
  • Understand and explain complex systems in clear and concise language.
  • Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues.
