Job summary

THE ROLE

The Global Manager Retail Operations is responsible for supporting the execution of the global retail operations strategy across Thom Browne's retail network. The role partners closely with Regional and Market teams to ensure the consistent implementation of retail operating standards, procedures, tools, and initiatives that drive operational excellence, efficiency, and an elevated client experience.

Reporting to the Senior Director Global Retail Operations, this position plays a key role in coordinating operational programs, monitoring performance, and driving the successful execution of retail excellence initiatives and global business priorities.

Acting as a key cross-functional partner, the Global Manager Retail Operations collaborates with Retail, Wholesale, Store Planning, Visual Merchandising, Logistics, IT, Finance, and Human Resources teams to support operational readiness, facilitate process improvements, and help ensure a consistent and seamless brand experience across all touchpoints and markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Retail Operations Excellence

  • Support the execution of global retail operational standards and procedures across the store network to ensure consistency and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate operational readiness activities for store openings, relocations, renovations, and closures, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Partner with Regional Retail teams to identify operational challenges, share best practices, and support the implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Maintain and update retail policies, operational guidelines, manuals, and tools in partnership with Regional and Market teams.
  • Monitor compliance with operational procedures, conducting regular audits and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support inventory management, stock control, loss prevention, and operational accuracy initiatives across stores.
  • Partner with Retail, IT, Logistics, Finance, and HR teams to ensure seamless operational execution.
  • Analyze store operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist with the implementation and optimization of Retail Information Systems, reporting tools, and store technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate communication of operational updates, policies, and best practices across the global retail organization.

2. Store Planning & Visual Merchandising Coordination

  • Partner with Store Planning teams to support operational readiness for new store openings, renovations, relocations, and special retail projects.
  • Track project milestones and ensure operational requirements are communicated and completed within agreed timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between Retail Operations, Store Planning, Visual Merchandising, Facilities, and Regional Retail teams.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Visual Merchandising guidelines across all stores.
  • Monitor execution standards and provide feedback to Regional teams to ensure consistency of brand presentation.
  • Assist in developing operational tools, checklists, and communication materials for commercial launches and key retail initiatives.
  • Support the execution of seasonal campaigns, product launches, and major commercial events from an operational perspective.

3. Retail Performance & Reporting

  • Maintain retail KPI dashboards and reporting tools to support business performance monitoring.
  • Analyze performance and operational trends across markets and provide recommendations to improve productivity, compliance, inventory accuracy, and client experience.
  • Consolidate and validate store operational and commercial data from Regional and Market teams.
  • Produce regular scorecards and performance reports highlighting trends, opportunities, and operational risks.
  • Support Regional Retail leaders by providing operational insights and recommendations to improve store productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor compliance with KPI reporting standards and ensure data accuracy across markets.
  • Assist in training Regional and Market teams on dashboard utilization, reporting processes, and operational metrics.
  • Track adoption of reporting tools and identify opportunities to improve reporting capabilities and insights.
  • Serve as a key contact for operational reporting and dashboard-related questions from Regional and Market teams.

4. Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support global retail transformation initiatives and operational improvement projects.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce complexity, and improve store productivity.
  • Coordinate testing, training, and implementation of new operational tools, systems, and procedures.
  • Gather feedback from Regional and Market teams and recommend enhancements to retail processes and operating standards.
  • Lead selected operational projects and support cross-functional initiatives that contribute to retail performance, operational excellence, and client experience objectives.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of retail operations experience within a luxury, premium, or fashion retail environment.
  • Experience supporting multi-store, regional, or global retail operations.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs, reporting, inventory management, and store operations.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Retail, Merchandising, Planning, Logistics, Finance, and IT teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and drive operational execution across multiple markets.
  • Advanced Excel and retail reporting skills; experience with Power BI and retail systems is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally as business needs require.
  • Passion for luxury retail and commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU
  • The expected base pay range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000 per year. Placement within the range will be determined by experience, skills, technical assessment and other job-related factors.
