Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Global Operations Supervisor in Jonesboro, GA to lead a portfolio of logistics projects across functions. You will oversee import/export shipments, coordinate with customs brokers, customers, carriers, and internal teams, and drive process improvements for on-time, compliant delivery.

The role requires 3+ years of dispatch and leadership experience, DG certification, and strong MS Office and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently using sound judgment while in a team environment.
• Must be able to calculate chargeable weight and volume for all shipments.
• Understands data usage across functions to provide unified data solutions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interface with Customs Broker, Importer and Customer for Import Shipments.
• Updating Special Tracking and Accounting Reports for Customers.
• Ensure dispatch is aware of special instructions/cut offs.
• Book air shipments with Pilot Gateway teams.
• Filing AES.
• Accurately enter pickup/quote into Navigator.
• Tracking and tracing of shipments.
• Communicate with customers and sales regarding issues.
• Update tracking milestones.
• Research shipments for corporate/accounting requests/reports.
• Billing: closing out shipments timely.
• Printing daily, researching, and responding timely.
• Timely invoicing and closing out of shipments.
• Develop new policies/procedures.
• Complete and review personnel issues timely.
• Train new employees to Pilot standards.
• Facilitate progressive change and teamwork.
• Maintain operation via policies and procedures.
• Know emergency policies and regulations.
• Flexible hours including weekends/holidays.
• Must be available 24/7 via phone.
