Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Chicago, IL is seeking a Strategic Sales Director to lead growth in the SBC segment by acquiring new medium- and large-sized customers and expanding DHL’s global freight solutions. You will drive profitable revenue through proactive hunting, tailored proposals, and collaboration with product teams, CRM updates, and regional strategy alignment.

The role requires 5+ years in international logistics sales, strong client management, and a proactive, results-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of sales experience; international logistics sales preferred.
• Proven success in new business acquisition and key account growth.
• Strong PC skills with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with international commercial transportation (air/ocean).

Responsibilities

• Win, retain and develop medium/large business customers in SBC segment.
• Recommend tailored solutions based on customer needs and industry knowledge.
• Deliver proposals, quotations and bids addressing pain points and growth.
• Build rapport with SBC accounts and understand their market dynamics.
• Coordinate onboarding of new clients including credit setup and rate loading.
• Maintain personal sales plan focused on new business and revenue growth.
• Update CRM with sales activities daily.
• Align sales efforts with regional and product strategies.
